Having completed all of John Munro’s Long White Cloud Qigong courses, I can confidently say this comprehensive program has fundamentally transformed my personal practice and wellness journey. What began as a basic awareness has evolved into a rich, integrated understanding of energy work that has become an essential part of my daily life.
The systematic progression from foundational energy patterns through the complete energy map – dantiens, extraordinary meridians, energy field, organ meridians, and energy points – has given me genuine sensitivity to my own energy systems.
Most valuable has been developing moment-to-moment awareness of what’s actually happening in my body. I now recognize energy patterns that correspond to my emotional states, physical tensions, and overall vitality. This sensitivity provides early warning systems for stress and imbalance, allowing me to address issues before they become chronic problems.
Working with the organ systems has been particularly revealing, helping me discover previously unrecognized connections between emotional patterns and physical sensations. Daily body scanning has become an invaluable check-in practice that shows me how lifestyle choices, stress levels, and emotional states affect my physical well-being.
The course structure of building skills progressively while maintaining previous practices has created a suitable foundation. My daily practice now flows naturally between different systems as an integrated whole. Most importantly, the emphasis on developing personal perception rather than following rigid routines has been empowering – I feel confident adapting practices to meet my changing needs.
John’s teaching approach perfectly balances theory and practice, providing enough background for understanding without overwhelming detail. The progression from simple awareness to complex energy work felt natural and well-paced, helping me develop authentic sensitivity rather than just intellectual knowledge.
This comprehensive program hasn’t just taught me techniques – it’s opened a lifelong practice of self-awareness and self-care. I now have a foundation that continues deepening with practice and the confidence to apply these principles throughout my life. I highly recommend this course series to anyone seeking a deeper relationship with their own energy and health.

For me, this course, stepping systematically through all the components of the energy system before putting them all together, vastly increased my intellectual and felt-sense, experience-based understanding of the subject that Qi Gong is. The group practice sessions especially taught an extra layer of utilising flexibility and playfulness. This back to, and deeply into the basics course allows to address one’s own specific issues, rather than focus on learning strict forms.
Increased confidence in methods that can be used as stand-alone or complimentary with other Qi Gong forms – possibly to overcome challenges better, resulted in a much deeper level of comfort with the modality and the prospect of teaching Qi Gong at various levels of “depth”. It has also increased my understanding of how elements of Qi Gong relate to, and hence can be utilised in, my Bowen Therapy practice.
On a body level I managed, although having worked through Long White Cloud’s three others courses previously already, to drive even deeper opening up of long-standing limiting muscle and mind patterns, through freeing up healthy energy flows some more.
A stand-out would be my torque-whiplashed neck – the adjustments, alignments and opening up to flows and sensations have been incredible. The flow-on effects from that equally so. I did come to truly understand what the cranial osteopath meant when she told me many years ago “you lost your centre-line”. Well, I got it back, healthier even than before the accident I believe (just a few more niggles). The effects on my life, my flow of life in life with life are a joyous relief.
The richness and flexibility of combinations found in this course mean that I have simply been continuing to work with varying elements of it and that I will do so for some time to come; it keeps giving. Ultimately I believe the learnings, the methods and elements, of this course will simply, quite naturally weave themselves into every other Qi Gong work I engage in.
Hence, much gratitude to John for making teachings at this level available to anyone who has the grit, and the enthusiasm, to deeply engage with what Qi Gong has to offer. The hard work pays off.
That said, the course can, I feel, serve equally well at the entry level – laying solid foundations to more form- and movement based qi gong work.

This class brought the energies of the mind, body and emotions together improving and strengthening all aspects of my life. I am able to physically move better within my Qigong practices and daily activities as well as noted health improvements. I also am better able to move through this tapestry of humanity. The easily accessible online class allowed people from all over the world to participate and bring their knowledge and questions biweekly adding a rich dimension to my individual study. The sessions led by John Munro were informative, creative and backed with reliable experience. I do feel very fortunate to have experienced this course. You are taken through a healing journey – primarily using your awareness, systematically working through the body’s energy systems. This is done using simple practices/techniques which are gradually built upon during a period of fifteen weeks. Encouraging you to look for healthy energy flow by scanning and assessing your energy systems. In any areas where this is not so, you will then bring in the practices to activate, clear and strengthen areas that have become blocked, stagnant or weak. Looking to create a harmonious flow. Of course, this is a skill that we need to develop. However, I found it amazing how quickly you can learn to do little checkin’s assessing your energy flow. You will learn to work with your Dantiens – oceans of energy flow. Opening the Central Flow – our primary connection to Heaven & Earth which supplies us with a constant flow of fresh energy. To scan and assess your energy – learning to clear and break up any blockages. Activating and clearing your Energy Field. Then onto the Organs and Organ Meridians, again learning to assess, activate and clear. This course also covers working with sound, vibration, colour, energy points, our chakra system, balancing Yin Yang and Five Element theory. So as you can see an incredible amount of content – which is delivered in a highly supportive and gentle way. Despite the huge amount of learning at no point did I feel overwhelmed or pressured during this study. Yes, it is a commitment, but in my experience, anything worth doing often is (and worth it!). There are scheduled live practices and course question and answer sessions where we all get together weekly. These are also recorded for you to refer back to at any time for as many times as you wish. I would highly recommend this to anybody whether you are already experienced in Qigong or just curious about it. You will then have an amazing toolbox to delve into whether this is to teach others, deepen your own practice or share with friends and loved ones. I think the only thing to say is why wouldn’t you?

The Qigong Self Healing course was quite demanding as so much is packed in to it! It builds on the Small Universe course and the Elemental Alchemy course and I would recommend it to anyone who has done either or both of these courses. It brings a depth to your existing practice and opens a door to the healing aspects of Qigong that are both tangible and enjoyable.
This course is good fun and very stimulating. I can also testify that the healing works: During the course I went on a long charity hike and fractured my wrist. I couldn’t have my hand and forearm in a cast at that time. The wrist had swollen up and hurt as you would expect, but three to four weeks later it was completely fixed and as good as new! I don’t recommend going as far as breaking a bone to test its efficacy like I did, but I am happy to confirm – the Long White Cloud Qigong works!

I found this to be an outstanding online course, absolutely packed with clear, practical ways to use Qigong for self-healing. Even with my background in Chinese medicine, energy work, and having completed three previous courses with Long White Cloud Qigong, I found this one particularly challenging yet deeply rewarding.
There’s a great deal of rich content to absorb, and with continued practice I’ve become much more skilled at choosing which methods to use and when, realising that sometimes, less truly is more, and that simplicity often carries profound healing. Also, that self-healing is a lifelong practice of learning, understanding, and transformation – even when revisiting the same material. I do plan to go through the course again from week one to let it sink in more fully, catch anything I may have missed, and hopefully gain new valuable insights.
I loved all aspects of the course, though a few especially stood out for me. Working directly with the organs through touch, breath, sound, light, and colour always leaves me feeling more balanced and uplifted – my whole being responds with delight to this practice. Sweeping the meridians, especially with non-touch, feels profoundly balancing, and I can sense the gentle healing warmth from my hands moving through the system.
The precise, intuitive work with meridians and energy points – guided by direct perception rather than fixed prescriptions – feels like a particularly thorough healing practise, fine-tuned to my needs right in that moment.
I’ve also loved exploring the fundamental patterns of natural energy flow through the Wuxing (Five Elements) practices. Massaging the associated organs and meridians, then using light and colour, brings a fuller, more embodied awareness and focus to each movement and intention. Finally, the weekly live practice sessions were a highlight as always.
It’s such a gift to have so many Qigong practices to draw from. I have found all Long White Cloud Qigong online courses to be consistently professional and deliver over and above what is needed or expected in a friendly and approachable way. I highly value being part of the Long White Cloud Qigong community / family – an inspiring place of shared growth, support and connection.

This course helps you to sense what your energy feels like and to understand the energy centers and flow of energy through the body, recognize blocks and use many different techniques to influence the energy movement to achieve balance , good health and wellbeing .
The techniques are easy to learn , gentle and yet extremely powerful , and can be adapted to different situations and health conditions . The practices can be done as mainly energy work but can also be incorporated into the various forms of other Quigong practices which usually mention and acknowledge energy but don’t go into so much depth as to how to Perceive it and work with it .
It’s a true pleasure to have taken this course and learnt so much from it . It has pushed my regular Quigong practice to the next level !!!
The online and on demand learning was very suitable for me considering my very busy schedule but instead of this being another thing on my to do lists, I found myself actually looking forward to the lessons at the end of the day. There are also practice sessions and Q and A sessions which can be done in real time or by listening to the recording . Also the 1:1 live meetings with John are extremely helpful and complement the video lessons very nicely.
To summarize even if you are pretty expert at the Qigong forms, this course will deepen your ability to sense and work with / influence the energy in a more profound and powerful way!

This course has brought many positive changes to my life!
The exercises in the material are simple and profound. All the background information is also helpful in creating a deeper connection with the exercises without them becoming too mental. It’s been helpful to build a daily practice that I expand over the weeks. Even after the course, I feel this deepening. John always provides different ways to do exercises. Because our bodies are different every day, I can vary my approach and find a suitable way to work each day. This flexibility has been very helpful in overcoming obstacles in my body that I’ve encountered and worked through along the way.
Effects of taking the course:
I experience more balance in the distribution of my energy throughout the day.
I feel more centered and defined, and experience more freedom in how I handle situations because I’m closer to myself.
It’s easier to make healthy choices in my day, for example, regarding nutrition and the feasibility of tasks, because I’m more aware (and inclined to listen) of what my body likes.
I feel more emotionally stable.
I have a greater awareness of my energy field and can play with it more. I work with many different kinds of people, each of whom demands something different from me.
I’m better able to relate to them based on how it’s appropriate and healthy for me, rather than primarily based on their demands. I’m more efficient and stay closer to myself while maintaining the quality of my connection with others.
I experience more playfulness and humor, and serious matters feel less of a burden.
As a result, I have more compassion for myself and others.
I don’t have to put as much pressure on things because I can do them more from a place of flow. I can, so to speak, let my energy work for me more because I’m more aware of it and can direct it.
My digestion and sleep have improved. I can slow down more naturally and am less impatient.
The course material gave me a greater understanding of nature and its natural way of moving and flowing. This has deepened my relationship with nature even more.
I found it very helpful to release old, stuck energy without mentalizing. I’ve found that my body naturally guides me.

Qigong for Self-Healing gave me a complete reorientation in how I understand the body and energy. Rather than feeling like a collection of techniques, the course felt like a deep study of the body’s energy systems as a whole—dantiens, meridians, organs, joints, polarity, yin and yang, elemental relationships, and the wider energy field—and how they interact to create health or imbalance. What I came to see is that ‘self-healing’ is the natural effect of restoring healthy flow across these systems. Through learning how to sense, assess, and work with blockages—whether they show up as pain, tension, breath holding, or emotional holding—I developed a far more precise and embodied understanding of how and why Qigong works. Since completing the course, every other Qigong practice I do feels clearer, more grounded, and more intelligent, because I now understand the underlying map of energy that the practices are engaging.
