About the Venue — Gradbach Mill Retreat Centre in the Peak District of the UK
Gradbach is a tiny hamlet located next to the River Dane and sitting in the western edge of the Peak District National Park, rich in history and heritage. Home to a silk spinning mill in the 1700s and later becoming a popular place to stay, the Mill offers comfortable accommodation, delicious food and state-of-the-art conference and outdoor facilities.
Getting there is very accessible, with the Mill located just 40 minutes from Manchester Airport.
What is Qigong Walking?
Qigong Walking combines principles of energy flow and awareness with rhythmic movement of walking. The practices help us to balance and strengthen our own energy, and develop our connection with the energy in our environment around us.
The practices are often very simple, but the rhythmic nature of walking helps us to sustain these simple focuses easily for extended periods of time, making them also quite powerful – in a gentle way. Step by step we strengthen our connection to our energy.
Qigong Walking can also be an easy bridge to bring your qigong practice into your daily life. Most of us walk for at least a little while each day, and with Qigong Walking, each time you walk can become an opportunity to balance, harmonize, and strengthen your energy.
On this retreat we will work with a primary series of twelve Qigong Walking Practices that will open up the flow of energy within you and strengthen your connection to the energy of nature around you, as well as developing balance and co-ordination. We will then explore an addition eight Qigong Walking patterns that can be used for specific benefits when we need them!
