Week Three Sessions Outline:
- Take a few moments to stand in a relaxed position, quiet your mind, relax your body, and slow and deepen your breath before you start into the qigong exercises
- You may want to begin your sessions with a little of the ‘Playing With Waves’ and ‘Empty and Full’ exercises from the last two weeks before moving on to this week’s focus
- This week the focus is on combining movement of the upper and lower body into some simple walking qigong exercises. As in previous weeks you can choose to spend as much time on each of these exercises as you want
- End your sessions with some simple qigong self massage to help return your energy to your centre
These walking qigong exercises co-ordinate the movement and energy flow between the upper and lower body. Essentially they are a combination of the movements you have practiced over the last two weeks. Your aim is to keep the sensation of flow and movement of energy moving smoothly through your whole body throughout the exercises.
It is very valuable to be able to maintain the flow of energy while walking. This is an important step towards being able to develop energy flow and awareness in every movement and every situation. These simple qigong walking patterns are a good place to start.
